• Boat on the Hudson River from the Irvington or Tarrytown Boat Club.
• Hike, bird watch, jog, stroll and cross-country ski at the Rockefeller Preserve, the 1,233 acre state park on Rt 117 in Sleepy Hollow with 22 miles of carriage paths along rivers, woods, a 24-acre lake and panoramic vistas. Over 180 species of birds have been recorded in the Preserve. Horseback riding and carriage driving require fee permit. Fishing permitted in Swan Lake and the Pocantico River
• Hike or bike on around the beautiful Lakes area of Tarrytown on the Lakes Extension of the North Country Trailway, a part of the Westchester County Trailway system.
• Kingsland Point Park, Palmer Avenue off Route 9 in Sleepy Hollow, is scenically located on a substantial crescent of land curving into the Hudson River. Picnic and play ball while enjoying breathtaking and unobstructed 180º views across the river to the Palisades. Adjacent to the park is the historic 19th century Tarrytown Lighthouse. While no longer in use, it provides a nostalgic reminder of the Hudson River's colorful shipping history. Several times each year, the lighthouse is opened for guided tours.
• Graham Hills Mountain Bike Trail is just off of Route 117; across from the Pleasantville campus of Pace University. This 431 acre park is geared to experienced mountain bike riders and hikers who appreciate a rugged and diverse terrain.
• Horseback riding lessons and trail riding can be arranged through area stables such as Beech Hill Farm, Beech Hill Rd, Pleasantville (914) 762-9882 and Fox Hill Farms, 204 Old Sleepy Hollow Rd., Pleasantville, (914) 769-9813.
• Take a tour the Historic Hudson Valley properties of Sunnyside, the Washington Irving residence in Irvington, Philipsburg Manor, the pre-Revolutionary home and working farm in Sleepy Hollow, Kykuit, the Rockefeller family home in nearby Pocantico Hills and the Rockefeller-built Union Church in Pocantico renowned for its series of stained glass windows created by Marc Chagall as well as for its Henri Matisse Rose Window. Also nearby is the castle-like gothic revival mansion Lyndhurst, former home of the railroad magnate Jay Gould.
• New York Waterways offers a seasonal scenic two hour river cruise departing from Tarrytown and proceeding northwards in full view of awe-inspiring Hudson Valley River scenery.
• Be entertained at Tarrytown Music Hall, 13 Main Street, Tarrytown; one of Westchester's oldest surviving theaters. Built in 1885, it continues to be a venue for some of today's most popular entertainers and productions.
• The Warner Library has many public programs for children of all ages.

Shopping/Dining

• Blue Hill at Stone Barns is an extraordinary newcomer. Located on the Rockefeller property in nearby Pocantico uses food grown on their grounds. Dining at Blue Hill is an unforgettable experience.
• Carlo's Place on Clinton Street in Sleepy Hollow has created a stir with its wonderful interpretation of Italian classics. The room is simple and has the feel of a trattoria in an Umbrian hill town.
• Thai Garden on Cortland Street in Sleepy Hollow has a delightful menu of Thai, Chinese and Singapore dishes beautifully prepared and presented. The room is restful and service is charming. A special treat is the valet parking.
• Chiboust, a sophisticated, sleek restaurant on Main Street, Tarrytown, with exceptional pastry has been getting accolades from every source.
• Equus, at The Castle at Tarrytown, offers exceptional dining in a magical setting-often accompanied by a Hudson River view.
• Some of the best ethnic restaurants in Westchester are in Tarrytown. Try Lefteris -- you can find it by the line out the door -- for casual Greek. Sante Fe has been known as the gold standard for Mexican food for years. Caravela offers fine Portugese cuisine. All have the distinction of being named "Best of Westchester" restaurants. Wasabi on Broadway in Sleepy Hollow has great…you guessed it …Sushi!
• Waterfront dining can be found at Striped Bass at the Tarrytown Boat Club, opposite the train station, which predictably specializes in sea food and Sunset Cover down the street at the nearby Irvington Boat Club.
• Horsefeather's on Broadway in Tarrytown has great pub food-huge sandwiches, the best burgers around and satisfying salads.
• Gourmet food stores include Mint, a newcomer with lovely interesting selections and the Tarrytown Gourmet with a large selection of prepared food, deli and bakery items.
• Tarrytown's numerous antique stores include Bittersweet Antiques, Tarrytown Art & Antiques, North Castle Antiques, the Tarrytown Antique Center and Tarrytown Art & Antiques-all on Main Street-make it a destination for browsers
• The Westchester Mall is 15 minutes away in White Plains (Bloomingdales, Nordstrom's, Nieman Marcus)
• Stew Leonard's, Costco and Home Depot are nearby just off I-87.
