• Boat on the Hudson River from the Irvington or Tarrytown Boat Club.
• Hike, bird watch, jog, stroll and cross-country ski at the Rockefeller Preserve, the 1,233 acre state park on Rt 117 in Sleepy Hollow with 22 miles of carriage paths along rivers, woods, a 24-acre lake and panoramic vistas. Over 180 species of birds have been recorded in the Preserve. Horseback riding and carriage driving require fee permit. Fishing permitted in Swan Lake and the Pocantico River
• Fish, picnic and hike at Croton Gorge Park, a 97-acre property at the base of the Croton Dam with impressive views of the Dam and spillway. There is direct access to New York State's Old Croton Aqueduct which runs from Croton-on-Hudson South through downtown Ossining and Dobbs Ferry on its way to Yonkers.
• Visit Waterfront Park in nearby Dobbs Ferry, a beautiful eight-plus acre park along the banks of the Hudson.
• Take a tour the Historic Hudson Valley properties of Sunnyside, the Washington Irving residence in Irvington, Philipsburg Manor, the pre-Revolutionary home and working farm in Sleepy Hollow, Kykuit, the Rockefeller family home in nearby Pocantico Hills and the Rockefeller-built Union Church in Pocantico renowned for its series of stained glass windows created by Marc Chagall as well as for its Henri Matisse Rose Window. Also nearby is the castle-like gothic revival mansion Lyndhurst, former home of the railroad magnate Jay Gould.
• New York Waterways offers a seasonal scenic two hour river cruise departing from Tarrytown and proceeding northwards in full view of awe-inspiring Hudson Valley River scenery.
• Be entertained at Tarrytown Music Hall, 13 Main Street, Tarrytown; one of Westchester's oldest surviving theaters. Built in 1885, it continues to be a venue for some of today's most popular entertainers and productions.
• The Dobbs Ferry Library, originally created in 1899 and and redesigned in 2003 by Peter Gisolfi, has superb views of the river. Many programs, including a story hour, are offered to the public.

Shopping/Dining

• The Chart House is well-known throughout the county for one of the best water views of any Westchester restaurant. Primarily known for its sea food, The Chart House's patio is a great place to nurse a martini while taking in the views of the Palisades and Manhattan skyline.
• Sushi Mike's is a Dobbs Ferry institution whose loyal patrons claim it's the best sushi around. It's open for lunch and dinner and is always packed.
• On Cedar Street you'll find Caffelatte, an old fashion Italian coffee bar.
• Around the corner on Main St. is Rich Bean Bakery Café, a relative newcomer reminiscent of a city coffee house.
• Tomatillo on Cedar Street has California influenced Mexican cuisine made with locally grown produce.
• Marshall's Cheese has an amazing selection of hard-to-find cheese from around the world, as well as those made closer to home by local Hudson Valley producers.
• Dobbs Ferry's numerous galleries, including the Upstream Gallery, the Main Street Gallery, Deerstooth Murals, Dobbs Ferry Pottery, and the Plotkin Gallery in the South Presbyterian Church make it an active center for the arts.
• The Westchester Mall is 20 minutes away in White Plains (Bloomingdales, Nordstrom's, Nieman Marcus)
• Stew Leonard's, Costco and Home Depot are nearby just off I-87.
